Backsberg Picnic Concerts with Koos Kombuis
Last Sunday was packed at Backsberg with fans to watch Koos Kombuis. He performed the last show for this series of Backsberg Picnic Concerts. Again great fun was had by all. I look forward to next year series to see more of the best South African musical talents at Backsberg in 2014.

| and how did you get so tall? |
I attended my first AfrikaBurn last year and what an amazing
experience, imagine a temporary town with thousands of people, bright colors
and smiles where ever you look. For six days the Tankwa Karroo, will have theme
camps, dance floors, beautiful art structures, mutant vehicles, wonderful
friendly people, music, colorful costumes, performance and so much more.
AfrikaBurn is a result of creative self expression, a
community of volunteers, friendliness and freedom.
There’s no money exchanged (you have to take literally
everything you need, from water and food to rubbish bags and coffee).
In Tankwa Town anything can happen. One can’t explain a Burn
properly unless you have experienced it. How do you explain something that
defies description? It is visually overwhelming and no photograph can do it
justice, there simply too much going on. You can only be a part of it, but it
will always be a part of you.
It has to be one of the best festivals in the world and I can’t
wait for May this year were we get to do it all over again.
I would like to thank all the wonderful and beautiful people
at AfrikaBurn who allowed me to photograph them.
